To Do: Fishing

Fishing in Aberdeenshire can be found in many guises - on lochs, estuaries, or rivers. Many streches of the Rivers Dee and Don are world famous and the Deveron, Ythan and Ugie provide a heady mix of challenges for beginners and experienced anglers alike.

Set in beautiful Royal Deeside the River Dee is internationally famous for its salmon fishing especially so, for its multi sea winter spring Salmon while the unique River Don has an excellent reputation not only for salmona nd sea trout but also as one of the finest wild brown trout rivers in Europe. The Ythan is also a long established fishing river particulary for sea trout, finnock and Atlantic salmon. The River Deveron further north rises in he high hills above the Cabrach and brown and sea trout can be found here as well as salmon, which can be found almost anywhere on the river although the higher beats are usually favoured.

Excellent rainbow trout fishing is also available in this area all year around. You will find fisheries that have been created by nature as well as modern fisheries with excellent bothie and refreshment facilities. The fisheries here are mianly sotcked with rainbow trout but you might also find yourself netting brook trout and brown trout.

Whatever kind of fishing you seek, be assured that all are set in peaceful, scenic locations and are places to get away from the stress of modern day life.
